Barça snatch late draw (3-3)
www.fcbarcelona.cat
FC Barcelona’s futsal team drew at home to Madrid-based Carnicer Torrejón, who took their chances when they had to while Barça dominating possession but squandered too many opportunities.
Manager Marc Carmona had doubts about playing the injured Fernandao and Igor, while Wilde had only
just returned from international duty for Brazil.
Barça dominated from the start but it was the visitors that opened the scoring on the counter
attack, thanks to Dani Martín.
Saad opens for FCB
Javi Rodríguez came close to equalising soon after, but goalkeeper
Prieto brought him down, and was sin-binned for his efforts.
But the rival keeper was back on court when Saad Asis struck a powerful shot through the
opposing defence. Carnicer Torrejón had a chance or two after that, but Barça stopper Cristian was
rock solid, and the score remained 1-1 at the break.
Goal each from Kita and Wilde
FC Barcelona held Carnicer back in their area for most of the second
half, and Javi Rodríguez, Saad and Wilde all had chances to put their side in front, but the goal
just didn’t want to come.
And just when FCB were dominating, Carnicer’s Kita used a dead ball situation to
cheekily score from his own half of the pitch after spying Cristian off his line.
Barça levelled terms within a minute when David handled in his area and Wilde coolly
converted the sport kick
Fernandao with 3 seconds to go
Carnicer’s third was yet another goal against the run of play. With 2 minutes left, and
Chico playing a rush goalies, Jorge scored from a corner. But just when Barça looked to be heading
for the cruellest of defeats, a clever move left Fernandao in the open, and he slotted home the
equaliser with just 3 seconds left on the clock.
