Barça Cifec played their last home game of the season and stayed in with a chance of finishing third by defeated Darien Logroño 35-28. It all now comes down to the final day of the season.
At the start of the second period, things were similar to the beginning of
the match as Logroño again pressed forward to ensure that they still had a chance and Marc Amergant
was in scoring form to keep his side within touching distance. Barça, though, were determined not
to be the victims of a surprise comeback and Víctor Tomás and Juanín García took the game to their
opponents, while Iker Romero continued edging his way to become the game's top scorer, with eight
goals in the end. A counter-attack from Tomás saw the hosts produce the biggest lead of teh game,
30-22, twelve minutes into the second half and the fans began to celebrate in style. Espar opted to
field his entire squad throughout the match so that each one had a chance to say goodbye for the
current season to the supporters inside the stadium.
For Dragan Skrbic the game was even more special as he was playing in his
last game for Barça Cifec in the Palau. The Serbian star will leave the team at the end of the
campaign and he was able to mark his send off with a goal in the final minute of the game.
