Semi-final place for roller hockey (1-7)
Sònia de Alba
Barça Sorli Discau have reached the semi-finals of the OK League after winning their second quarterfinal game 1-7. The goals came from David Páez (3), Masoliver, Teixidó, Ferrer and Rosa.
Despite the absence of injured captain Alberto Borregán, the Barça roller hockey team powered their
way in the league semi-finals 1-7.
True to their style
The opening minutes of the game were characterised by some organised play,
especially in defence, and an increasing rhythm.
Lleida, the surprise package of the season, tried to maintain the style of play that has
carried them in to the top eight in the league, and players such as Gil, Seró and Giralt asked some
searching questions of Aitor Egurrola. However, it was a case of some good approach play but not
enough sharpness in the last touch.
Meanwhile, Barça played calmly and looked for the win.
Two goals before the break
Mia Ordeig could have opened the scoring but shot wide. David Paéz seized the subsequent
opportunity to fire past Lledia goalkeeper Ramon Gascón.
Seven minutes later there was little Gascón could do to stop David Páez scoring in a
one-to-one confrontation after the Barça star had won possession.
Three goals more after the break
The home side kept their nerve and played well after the break and perhaps deserved a little
more for their efforts. But once again, David Páez seized on another half chance to fire in from
long range.
23 seconds later, Masoliver made it 0-4, catching the home players off their guard.
But there was more to come. Mia Ordeig combined with Lluís Teixidó to add to the score line
with some 10 minutes still on the clock.
Consolation goal
Finally, Seró scored Lleida’s only goal to make it 1-5 but Barça youngsters Lluís
Ferrer and Ferran Rosa added two more to leave the scoreboard at 1-7.
