OK Lliga Champions again (5-6)
Sonia de Alba (Enviada especial)
Barça Sorli Discau beat Coinasa Liceo in La Coruña this evening to take the OK Liga Roller Hockey championship. Barca won the title play off series 3-0, the first team to ever do so without losing a game.
The title is the 22nd in the club’s history and their 12th on the trot, but they had to fight
hard to take it in this third game of the play offs as Liceo made things tough for them, especially
in the second half, as they fought to force a fourth game.
Good start
Barca opened the scoring on 10 minutes through Panadero and three minutes later David
Paez made it two. The goals were a blow to the home supporters, but Liceo didn’t let their
heads drop and Lamas took advantage of a mix up in the Barca defence to cut the distance soon
after, but Miquel Masoliver and Teixidó hit back with two goals within a minute.
Liceo hit back
Again Liceo came back though and two goals just before half time from Pablo Alvarez made it
3-4 at the break. Mia Ordeig put the Champions back on course at the start of the second half and
Carlos Lopez scored number six soon after. Some fine keeping by Aitor Egurrola including a penalty
save from Bargalló, kept any threat of a Liceo comeback at bay and the game ended 3-6, a victory
that rounds of a mixed season with the happy ending of another OK Liga title.
