Jordi Adroher and Reinaldo García are the first two signings for the Barca Roller Hockey team for the 2009/10 season. Adroher has signed from Vic for the next two seasons, whilst Reinaldo has signed from Liceo for three.
Roncato Patí Vic forward Jordi Adroher and Coinasa Liceo defender Reinaldo García have both joined
the Barça Sorli Discau squad. ‘Adro’,who is 24, has signed for two seasons, one less
than the 26-year-old Argentinean.
“This is a dream come true. Any player who starts as a youngster
wants to play for Barca one day. This is the best it gets in the roller hockey world”, said a
clearly excited Jordi Adroher, who finds himself back with Ferran Pujalte his manager for the last
four years in Vic: “he’s left Vic in one of the strongest positions in Europe. I think
he’s a very good coach”.
Reinaldo García was also very happy to join the club and reckoned: “this is such a big
club and well known throughout the world, especially for the football team. I’m proud to
represent Barca and all that it represents”.
Medical tests passed with flying colours
Both players passed their full medicals with flying colours before signing for the team.
Reinaldo García is a tough defender and a great organizer on the pitch.
He’ll have to change his style with the move from Liceo though, where the game is based more
on keeping possession, as against Barca’s faster style of play.
Barca have had their eye on Jordi Adroher since he was playing for Lloret 6 years ago and
after overcoming a series of injuries, he has fulfilled the promise he showed back then. Last
season he was one of the key players in Vic’s top scorer with 32 goals, successful season and
was the regular season’s leading goalscorer only coming one behind Liceo’s Jordi
Bargalló with 36 once the play offs were taken into account.
