Barça charity project in Tenerife
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Last 22 December the Bomba Navarro Barcelona Supporters’ Club in Tenerife ran the fifth edition of its “A Present, A Smile” charity project. Members of the club handed out Barça-based presents to children in the Canary Islands University Hospital.
The project was started up five years ago and since then Johnny Gómez, chair of the Bomba
Navarro Supporters’ Club, and his board have brought a smile to many kids’ faces as
club members go to
hospitals around the Canary Islands and hand out Barça
Christmas gifts.
Last Monday 22 December a group went to the children’s ward at the Canary Islands
University Hospital, where lots of ill kids had an unforgettable day thanks to the Barça
supporters’ club.
Major partners
FC Barcelona, newspapers Sport and Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish Basketball Federation,
Tenerife Rural Basketball and the CB Socas Canarias basketball club partnered this great initiative
which is growing by the year.
With this kind of project Barça supporters’ clubs are working along the same lines as
the club itself in terms of charity. Indeed, ever since Barça signed its agreement with UNICEF many
Barça associations have started up their own solidarity projects, showing that both the club and
its supporters’ clubs are passionate about charity.
