Visit to the New York’s FC Barcelona supporters’ club

A few hours after arriving in New York, president Joan Laporta and the club directors taking part in ‘On tour U.S.A. 2008’ visited the headquarters of the FC Barcelona supporters club on the island of Manhattan.
The FC Barcelona supporters’ club in New York – Nevada Smiths is is a must for the many
‘culés’ who pass through the city of skyscrapers every day. President Joan Laporta,
vice-president Rafael Yuste and the directors Albert Perrín and Jacint Borràs, along with the
technical secretary Txiki Beguiristain, went along to the headquarters of the entity created four
years ago and which now has more than 240 members.
A gift from FC Barcelona
For almost an hour, the Barça committee commented on the current situation of the club with
about 30 fans who had turned up at number 74 Third Avenue. As a show of thanks for the welcome, the
club handed over a Barça shirt signed by the president.
For his part, the president of the entity, Jordi Esteve, has promised to take part in the
charity act organised by ‘Malaria No More’, programmed for this Tuesday.
