Biggest turnout of supporters clubs this season

Around 12,000 supporters clubs from Catalonia and Spain enjoyed something more than Barça’s win over Valencia last Saturday. The game featured thousands of supporter’s club members getting behind the team from start to finish.


The Barça v Valencia game last Saturday had the best turnout of supporters’ club members of the season. The high standard of the teams and the fact there was a public holiday meant a massive turnout at the Camp Nou.

There are always around 7,000 supporters club members in the stadium for weekend matches, but this time an additional 5,000 came to the game, mainly from outside of Catalonia.

Six clubs in the ground

Taking advantage of their trip to Barcelona, six clubs unveiled their crests in the. These were the ‘penyes’ of Carlet (Valencia), Maracena (Granada), Donosti (Guipuscoa), Benassal al Vent (Castellón), Calahorra (La Rioja) and Rute (Cordoba).

Social Commission directors Martín Martínez and Xavier Ferrer oversaw their inaugurations, which were attended by some three hundred supporters club members.

Inauguration of caricatures

FC Barcelona director, Xavier Bagués, inaugurated the display of caricatures of the supporters club world organised by the artist and president of the Penya z_05.jpgBarcelonista Camp de Morvedre, Enric Oliver.

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday past this exhibition was open to all supporters clubs in the Sala París on the FC Barcelona grounds. This interesting exhibition features images of some of the most important personalities in the supporters club world.
