The Penya Barcelonista de Sant Fruitós de Bages opened its new clubhouse last Friday in a fun and festive fashion.
Last January 21 in the afternoon, the club presided by Jaume Casals has good reason to celebrate.
The new clubhouse in Carretera de Vic has spacious, modern facilities. The council gave its support
and was represented by the mayor Josep Rafart and the Governor for Sport. The Associació Barça
Veterans was also there, represented by Josep Moratalla. The Club was represented by Pilar
Guinovart, director of the Social Area.
Both the Mayor and Pilar Guinovart, plus the president of the supporters club and Ramon
Burniol, the delegate of the Bages, Berguedà i la Cerdanya Advisory Council welcomed the guests.
Then Father Amat Berenguer of Sant Fruitós blessed the building, which was followed by the
inauguration.
The speeches included warm words of remembrance for the founder of the club and president for
twenty two years Antoni Baraldés. His widow received a replica of a picture showing his number one
membership card, a number that was posthumously withdrawn forever in his honour.
The event ended with refreshments for everybody in the hospitable ambience of the new
clubhouse, which will surely provide new inspiration to this supporters club.
