The island of Mallorca became blaugrana the night before the league match between RCD Mallorca
and FC Barcelona. More than 600 fans from all parts of the Balearic Islands gathered in this
traditional area meeting. Directors of FC Barcelona Jordi Cardoner and Antoni Freixa, as well as
Director of the Social Comission Enric Tombas were the club representatives on this event.
On the other side, Cardoner recalled that “if we have a great team is mainly because we
have an important social mass just like in the Balearic Islands. The competition we have always won
is the social one, no one can beat us on this matter”.
Former players such as Miguel Bernardo “Migueli”, Josep Moratalla, Enric Masip,
or reputed Barcelona fans such as the patron of the Fundació del FC Barcelona Josep M. Maldonado
did not want to
miss
this celebration.
Successful participation
Last night, those Barcelona supporters living in Mallorca started making noise to
spread the blaugrana feeling all along the island. Thirty penyes were represented by more than 600
people showed their passion for Barça and their satisfaction regarding their team. None of them
missed the VIIIth annual meeting, that takes place each time FC Barcelona visits Mallorca. As in
the previous years, participation has been an exceptional success.
