The UK capital was filled with Barça colours over the weekend and the fans all saw their dream come true as the team brought home the Club’s fourth European Cup.
The London supporters club organised a supper at the Grange City Hotel, close to the Tower of
London, which more than 300 people attended. Representing the Club were the Vice-President of the
Social Area Jordi Cardoner i
Casaus, together with board members Pilar Guinovart and Josep-Ramón Vidal-Abarca.
Pau Vilanova and Josep M. Barnils of the Social Commision were also at the meal.
For Sr Cardoner i Casaus, the number of people at the meal, as well as those who had flooded
the city, was confirmation of just why ours is “mes que un club”. There was plenty of
optimism at the event - optimism which was more than justified on Saturday at Wembley and for Sr
Cardoner, it was clear that the Club had already won the Champions League trophy in social terms.
Saturday at Trafalgar Square
Saturday lunchtime saw the now traditional coming together of Barça fans at Trafalgar Square
– something that happens every time Barça play in London. Thousands of Barça fans turned out
at the emblematic London square to show their support and show that Barcelona support is as healthy
as ever. Jordi Cardoner i Casaus, Pau Vilanova and Josep M. Barnils all showed up, determined not
to miss this great show of support and to thank the supporters clubs and members for their backing
for the Club
