Sandro Rosell was accompanied by Club Vice-President Jordi Cardoner, board member Ramon Cierco
–himself from Andorra and the first Club Director to come from the Principality- and Social
Commission Director Pau Vilanova. Saturday’s celebrations for the club’s 50th
anniversary coincided with the 10th Trobada de Veterans and the President was able to take part in
both events.
Vets game
First up was a game between ex-players at the Estadi Comunal d'Andorra where Sandro
Rosell was invited to take the kick off. The Barça party then moved on to the Penya’s HQ
where the club President Jaume Puig and other leading members of the Penya met the board members.
Commemorative lunch
Celebrations then moved to the Parc Central d'Andorra la Vella, where a celebratory lunch was
followed by speeches and the awarding of various commemorative items. The lunch was attended by the
head of the Andorran government Antoni Martí Petit, the supporters Club President, the President of
the Agrupació Barça Jugadors (ABJ), and the deputy head of the local council Josep Vila, amongst
others.
The lunch brought together the two celebrations - the 50th anniversary and the 10th Trobada
de Veterans and the event was held in an atmosphere boosted by Guardiola’s team’s
successes again this season.
The Agrupació Barça Jugadors presented commemorative statuettes to the Club’s players
who were born or lived in Andorra: Jesús Julián Lucendo, Froilán Roig, Lluís Aloy, Gaspar Guevara,
Isaac Obregón, Josep Maria Rodríguez and Xavier Roure.
