The Plenary Session of the Supporters Clubs Advisory Council was held on June 17 and was attended by Jordi Cardoner i Casaus and Pau Vilanova.
The Plenary Session began on Friday afternoon, with an overview of the work done this year and the
aim of further developing the Penyes Segle XXI Project, which will be rolled out immediately.
Double plenary session
The supporters club sector has enjoyed considerable importance over the last year
as a a result of the Club’s intention to strengthen the Penya brand and use it to extend the
Club’s values into the wider society. This increased
importance was reflected in the decision to spread the Session over
two days - Friday evening and Saturday morning.
After Jordi Cardoner had given the official welcome, the members of the Plenary Session began
to make their proposals for the immediate future. The plans for the World Meeting, as well as the
Congress and the seven-a-side football competition were all presented. The new website, which has
been developed over the last few months to help improve the communication between the supporters
clubs and the Club and serve as a fundamental tool in developing the many projects the clubs
organise, was also unveiled.
Late in the evening, the conclusions of the study into the supporters movement carried out
between December and May was presented. The study will be used as the basis for future improvements
that the Club wishes to make in the movement.
Commissions present conclusions
As announced earlier, for thematic commissions were created in October made up of
Council members and directors of the Social and Supporters Club commissions. These made an
exhaustive study of different proposals to improve the way relations between the Club and its
supporters clubs are handled.
The conclusions of each of these commissions were presented on Saturday along with the
ensuing proposals. The commissions for registering membership, for the identity of supporters
clubs, for tickets and away trips, and for campuses and activities gave their reports, the result
of six months of hard work. All of this in order to reinforce the supporters club movement and
demonstrate the Board of Directors’ commitment to the same.
