Supporters’ clubs of Barça and Madrid celebrated a brotherhood lunch before the big game. It has been five years now since supporters of both clubs gather to organize this event, in which good harmony, fair play healthy rivalry reign the atmosphere.
As usual, the Supporters’ Clubs Advisory Council organized a lunch before el Clasico along
with the Asociación de Federaciones de Peñas de Fútbol (AFEPE). Head of the Social Comission Pau
Vilanova, and director of the Social Comission abroad Josep M. Barnils were the Club’s
representatives. Vilanova highlighted that this is sport, and one has to enjoy it as such, so as to
promote companionship among supporters, as shown on this meeting between representatives of both
clubs.
Total brotherhood
Fermín Calero, president of Supporters’ clubs of R. Madrid federation, thanked the
invitation and also added that this kind of events are a clear example of healthy rivalry. He also
invited FC Barcelona delegation to have the same celebration for the match in Madrid. On the other
hand, delegate of the Supporters’ Clubs Advisory Council for Madrid Edmundo Bazo highlighted
their friendship besides supporting completely different teams. Director of Real Madrid Social Area
José Luis Sánchez also emphasized the worldwide show a Barça – Madrid match is.
Lunch was also attended by delegates of the Advisory Council for the Canary Islands and
Anoia, Penedès and Garraf, José Yamal Hawach and Jordi Abellán, respectively. Rogeli Serra,
president of PB Montserrat-Monistrol attended as boardmember of AFEPE, as well as supporters’
clubs section journalists of Sport and Mundo Deportivo Toni Closa and Albert Sanchís, besides a
delegation of journalists from Madrid newspapers As and Marca.
