On Monday December 27, the II PB Ciutat de Peníscola Solidarity Campus
The II Campus Solidario de la PB Ciutat de Peníscola started on Monday 27 on
occasion of the first training sessions on the municipal football pitch. The campus involved the
members of staff from the Summer Camp and involved 80 children whose only requirement for entry was
that they should bring a toy as a gift for the neediest families in the town.
The Red Cross, who were responsible for making sure they toys all went to needy recipients,
announced that more than 100 toys had been collected, which the president of the charity’s
local board, Isabel Calatayud, said would surely increase thanks to other members of the community
who, despite not being involved in the campus, still wished to show their support for the
initiative.
The mayor of Peñíscola, Andrés Martínez, also attended and said he was “very pleased
with the way the people had responded to this second edition of the Solidarity Campus”.
This second edition has brought together twice as many people as the first in support of such
a wonderful cause.
