Sant Andreu beat Espanyol 2-1 in the final to walk off with the Catalan Cup. Natxo González’s men had knocked Barça out 3-1 in the semi-finals.
Barça were unable to put out the side for the competition that they would have liked to. The
matchdays clashed with international fixtures which meant 18 first team players were unavailable.

Given the circumstances it was decided that Luis Enrique, the Barça Atlètic manager, should
be in the dugout in charge of a team made up of academy players. The not very entertaining
semi-final was won by the eventual champions Sant Andreu by
3-1
